Jill Schultes-Pudenz Honored with DAISY Award at St. Anthony Regional Hospital

Jill Schultes-Pudenz, RN, of St. Anthony Regional Hospital was presented with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at a reception with her family and co-workers this week. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation's program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform daily.

Jill completed her Associate’s Degree in Nursing at DMACC in May 2004 going on to obtain her Registered Nurse (RN) license in August 2005. Jill joined St. Anthony Regional Hospital in 2009 and has worked in dialysis, the mental health unit and, currently, Jill works in the medical-surgical unit. Jill and her husband Curt live near Carroll with their two children, Myles (13) and Emma (7). She also has two adult children, Becca Conner of Glidden and Jake Schultes of Dedham. Jill has three grandchildren with another expected to arrive in November.

A portion of the nomination submission read: “As a mother of three premature children, I have spent many months in hospitals as a parent and advocate. I have watched many nurses care for my children, and Jill stands out above the rest because of her gentle way of getting to know her patients and their family members. My daughter was the first pediatric patient Jill cared for, and even though my 4-month-old daughter could not respond, Jill spoke to her and explained everything to her. Jill asked me about my daughter’s preferences and history. Jill had empathy and was sensitive to our history. She is a one-of-a-kind nurse!”

“It was extra special to present this award to Jill because she has been nominated for the DAISY Award twice, and she is much deserving of this award,” said Sara Gonnerman, Interim Chief Nursing Officer at St. Anthony. “St. Anthony is proud to continually recognize our nursing staff for their dedicated, compassionate care through the DAISY Foundation.”
