CCMH Announces Stephen Israel, MD Joins Emergency Department Medical Staff

The Crawford County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees is proud to announce the addition of Stephen Israel, MD to its Emergency department medical staff. Dr. Israel, Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, will join Dr. Michael Luft, Dr. Patrick Luft, Dr. Kyle Brown, Leah Eck, and Joey Hoefling on the Emergency Department medical staff.

“Dr. Israel joining our Emergency department medical staff is evidence of the commitment of the Board of Trustees to provide the best emergency medicine on behalf of all Crawford County residents,” said Erin Muck, CCMH President and CEO.

A graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford where he earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD), Dr. Israel performed his combined Internal Medicine and Pediatric internship at Stroger Hospital of Cook County, Illinois. Dr. Israel most recently worked in Emergency medicine in Whitehall, WI.

A native of Effingham, IL, Dr. Israel is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association. He is married to his wife, Jill, and has two sons and a daughter. His hobbies include hiking, travel, and wine tasting, among others.

“I am looking forward to serving the people of Denison and Crawford County. My goal is to offer the most comprehensive and compassionate emergency services possible,” Dr. Israel said.
