The DAISY and BEE awards are nationally known programs offered in hundreds of hospitals across the United States. With the launch of these programs at Crawford County Memorial Hospital (CCMH), patients, families, visitors, and friends have the opportunity to nominate a nurse or staff member they feel has provided exceptional care at CCMH.
“The DAISY and BEE Awards are an excellent way to honor the exceptional care given every day by our clinical and non-clinical staff,” said Jason Franklin, Chief Nursing Officer at CCMH. “I would also like to commend the individuals who got this program up and running. They worked very hard and put in countless hours researching and planning for the awards and providing staff awareness and excitement.”
DAISY and BEE Award Planning Committee members at CCMH include Brooke Attanasio, RN (Medical Unit); Brooke Schwery, RN (Medical Unit); and Danielle Watts, RN (Medical Unit).
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem) award, is an international award backed by the DAISY Foundation, a nonprofit organization with a mission to recognize the extraordinary, compassionate care that nurses provide patients and families every day. The BEE (Being Exceptional Everyday) award is designed to recognize non-nursing CCMH staff that have gone above and beyond their call of duty to provide an exceptional patient experience.
Staff at CCMH may be nominated for a DAISY or BEE award by patients and their families, colleagues, and members of the community. Each honoree will receive a celebration within their department, a commemorative certificate, an award pin, and will be featured on social media, radio, and in the newspaper.
