Greene County Community School District Announces its Superintendent Selection
The Greene County Community School District is pleased to announce that a contract
for Superintendent of Greene County has been offered to Brett Abbotts pending a final
background check.
Mr. Abbotts is currently the principal of Roosevelt Elementary School in Council Bluffs,
Iowa. He has been in this position since 2017. Prior to that he held positions as
assistant principal, athletic director, and teacher in schools in Iowa.
Twenty-three applicants applied for the position. Two finalists were interviewed for the
position. Mr. Abbotts will assume the duties of superintendent beginning July 1, 2022.
McPherson & Jacobson L.L.C. served as consultants in the search process and will
continue working with the Greene County Board of Education and the new
superintendent in helping establish performance objectives for Mr. Abbotts.
