Des Moines Area Community College recently issued the following announcement.
DMACC’s most famous alum featured in latest edition of DMACC Magazine
The DMACC Foundation is pleased to announce that business titan, philanthropist and DMACC graduate Dennis Albaugh and his wife Susan are featured on the cover of the 2021 Fall/Winter edition of DMACC Magazine, a publication produced by the Foundation and distributed to more than 63,000 DMACC alumni, donors and friends.
Inside the newly released issue, a cover story entitled “Investing in Excellence” recognizes Albaugh for his vision and for the “passion, purpose and expertise” to make his vision a reality. Albaugh and his wife Susan are one of the wealthiest families in the Midwest. They have been just as altruistic, establishing a unique and innovative student scholarship fund called The Prairie Trail Scholarship, investing in four major building projects on the DMACC Ankeny Campus, and annually hosting the DMACC Foundation’s largest fundraiser at their personal golf course, Talons Golf in Ankeny.
Albaugh said he has enjoyed the evolution and growth of DMACC, and famously said, “DMACC is my favorite university in the state of Iowa.”
An Iowan through and through, Albaugh was born and raised on a farm just northeast of Ankeny, and enrolled in a newly established DMACC, where he majored in Agribusiness Operations. It was during his time at the College that he learned about ag chemicals that would fuel his business vision and acumen. Today his company, Albaugh LLC, is based in Ankeny and has operations worldwide.
The Albaugh profile was written to highlight and thank Dennis, Susan and their family for their longstanding support of DMACC and Foundation leadership. View the latest issue of DMACC Magazine and read the profile.
