ACMH’S Radiology Department Raises Breast Cancer Awareness During Mammo Month

Breastcancerr

Audubon County Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on November 2.

Throughout the month of October, the radiology staff at Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics raised awareness for breast cancer. Breast cancer is one of the most serious threats to women and one of the leading causes of death in women between the ages of 30 and 55.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), “For many women, mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat and before it is big enough to feel or cause symptoms. Having regular mammograms can lower the risk of dying from breast cancer.”

This month the radiology staff performed 77 mammograms for women in the community. Those who participated in Mammo Month were offered refreshments, treat bags, and a chance at a raffle. 22 names were drawn with each winner receiving a pink ACMH t-shirt celebrating the fight against breast cancer.

You don’t have to receive a mammogram just during Mammo Month! Call the Radiology Department at Audubon County Memorial Hospital and at 712-563-5315 to schedule your appointment. The best detection is early detection.
