Greene County Comm School District issued the following announcement on November 1.
Veterans Day will be celebrated this year at Greene County High School. On Thursday, November 11, student council welcomes all veterans to gather at 7:30 a.m. in Ram Restaurant for coffee and pastries.
Veterans should enter the north-main entrance where members of the student council will be at the doors as greeters. These students will assist veterans inside if needed. A Veterans Day celebration in the auditorium will be following the light, continental breakfast. This program will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will include a local veteran as our keynote speaker, music performed by students at the GCHS, patriotic poems, and videos.
Post assembly, we invite all veterans to stay and watch a Veterans Day video designed specially for veterans. We hope many veterans will join us for a day of honoring their sacrifices for our country.
