Audubon County Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on October 27.

As of October 21, 2021, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory committee and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend a booster dose of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine to people ages 65 and older and other vulnerable Americans.

The following groups are eligible for a booster shot at 6 months or more after their initial series:

  • People 65 years and older
  • People 18 years and older who reside in long-term care settings
  • People aged 18 years and older with underlying medical conditions
  • People aged 18 years and older who work or live in high-risk settings
Audubon County Public Health and Audubon County Memorial Hospital will be holding community Moderna booster clinics.
