MANNING REGIONAL HEALTHCARE CENTER: West Central Iowa Healthcare Foundation Donates to Local Food Pantries

Donation1

Manning Regional Healthcare Center recently issued the following announcement.

The West Central Iowa Healthcare Foundation (WCIHF) is excited to announce that they will be making a $1,500 donation to the IKM-Manning Wolf Pack Pantry as well as a $1,500 donation to the Manning Food Pantry thanks to the generosity of community members.

These donations were made possible from the proceeds of the annual WCIHF Dream Lights holiday tradition. This annual program allows community members to pay to sponsor a Christmas tree on main street in Manning.

“We recognize that there is a significant need for food in our area and believe this is an excellent way for the foundation to fulfill our mission and help those in need during the holidays and beyond,” said Gaylin Ranniger, WCIHF president.

The WCIHF is a volunteer board of dedicated community members whose purpose is to raise money for the promotion of health and wellness in the community of Manning and the surrounding communities.

The IKM-Manning Wolf Pack Pantry offers food items to families and employees in the IKM-Manning school district on the second Friday of each month in the middle school library. The identities of those visiting are kept confidential and there is no limit to the times a person can visit the pantry. If you are unable to visit the pantry during its posted hours, appointments can be made by calling (712) 655-3761.

The Manning Food Pantry serves families and individuals in the IKM-Manning school district and nearby communities. It is located at 318 Main Street, in the back of the State Farm Insurance office. The back entrance in the alley can be used. Contact New Opportunities Carroll County Family Development Center in Carroll at (712) 792-9266 ext. 720, to determine your eligibility. There is no charge to use the food pantry, and a household can visit once a month.

The Manning Food Pantry also stocks the Manning Cares food box, located in the alley near the pantry. This is free and open to anyone to stop by anytime day or night to give or take.

If you would like to support the food pantry and donate items, current needs are cereal, laundry detergent, spaghetti sauce, coffee, flour, sugar, oil, dressings, mayo, ketchup, juice, crackers, rice, instant potatoes, and blocks of cheese.
