Carroll Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Sept. 24.
Chamber member Renewable Energy Group (REG) presented a generous donation of $5,000 to the Carroll Chamber of Commerce staff and board of directors Wednesday afternoon.
“REG recognizes it’s been a tough year for small communities, where we operate and reside,” said Bill Ritchie, REG plant manager. “The Chamber had to cancel fundraisers this year, and we want to give back to the community. When we all get through this, and we will, we want everyone to be viable, and the Chamber helps with that.”
Myron Danzer, REG’s general manager, noted that the Chamber has been helpful with making job applicants aware of opportunities at REG, which sometimes are less visible because of the business’s location on the edge of the county.
“The Chamber of Commerce is very appreciative of the support from REG,” said Shannon Landauer, executive director. “Our board and staff have been working hard this year to meet the needs of our businesses on a more individual level while maintaining whatever annual program activity that we can to support our own budget. This support means a lot to the organization, not only financially but also the recognition of the important work that is done by the Carroll Chamber of Commerce for the community as a whole.”
