City of Carroll issued the following announcement on Aug 20.
The afternoon of Wednesday, August 19th the City of Carroll was notified that a lifeguard who worked both at the outdoor aquatic center and the indoor Rec Center pool tested positive for COVID-19. As a result of that employee testing positive for COVID-19, a number of other employees have been advised by Carroll Public Health to self-quarantine for 14 days due to their close contact with the COVID-19 positive employee. Due to the lack of employees being able to work, the City of Carroll is closing the outdoor aquatic center for the season and is currently evaluating if the indoor Rec Center pool can remain open with the current staff that is available.
Additionally in the evening of Tuesday, August 18th, the City was notified of an employee in one of our critical service areas that was positive with COVID-19. Services in this area remain unimpacted by this positive case.
Since mid-March, the City of Carroll has put in place a number of steps to protect our critical service workforce. This includes enhanced cleaning, utilizing a split workforce rotation within certain departments, and other measures. These measures are outlined on the City of Carroll’s website at www.cityofcarroll.com/covid19.
Due to the critical nature of certain city services and the need to prevent a COVID-19 outbreak within our workforce, the City continues to require the use of face masks by all members of the public when visiting City Hall, the Police Department Lobby, and the Carroll Public Library. Additionally, City Staff will be required to use face masks when they cannot maintain social distancing within our facilities.
For many city services you can simply "Skip the Trip" and stay home to remotely access the city service you need. The City also offers curb side services for those individuals that are unable to wear a face mask or who don’t have access to a face mask. These actions don’t just protect you but also help protect the Carroll City workforce who provide critical services our community depends on every day.
