A Paton resident who held a house party in April pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors last week, We Are Iowa reported.

The 23-year-old man's April 3 party had more than 40 people in attendance when the state was under emergency orders prohibiting gatherings of more than 10 people, according to the news media. When Greene County deputies arrived, they cited at least seven underage individuals with possession of alcohol.

Riley Rittgers was ordered to pay a $200 fine and spend four days in jail, but he was given credit time served.

Rittgers was charged with violating the state's social host law, as well as Gov. Kim Reynolds' executive order. At the time he was charged, no one besides him had been charged in violating the order in Greene County, the news media reported.

While the officers didn't have the proper charging language at the time, the language was eventually provided to them, according to the news media.
