Carroll Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 25.
A new platform is giving small businesses an opportunity to sell online with Shop Iowa. ShopIowa.com is a marketplace website built for Iowa’s brick and mortar retail businesses to sell online together. It is funded by Iowa Economic Development Authority, enabling small retailers to have a shop on the platform for free.
The Shop Iowa program offers an opportunity for businesses who do not have an online presence to get their feet wet for free, while also encouraging businesses that are already online to add 25 of their products to the Shop Iowa site as well. Local businesses are encouraged to participate in an effort to raise awareness of small businesses and remind consumers to shop local. The site is searchable by community.
