The Carroll County Board of Supervisors has opened the public again this week, 1380 KCIM reported.
The courthouse reopened opened on Monday, July 20 at 8 a.m. and was opened all day until 4:30 p.m. Social distancing and masks are still highly encouraged.
Auditor Kourtney Irlbeck met with the board on July 13 and said she was all for opening up for a full-time schedule, but urged the board to inform department heads about any issues.
At the same time, Chair Rich Ruggles said one department will only be open via appointments.
“I think we should stay appointment only with driver’s license,” he said in meeting audio obtained by 1380 KCIM. “The people that do have it, they like it. They get in, they get out, they don’t have to wait.”
He also pointed out that the appointment-only method could also prevent social distancing problems as several other departments move forward with reopening.
