In light of the novel coronavirus pandemic, Carroll County changed the way it conducts business to adhere to Gov. Kim Reynolds’ Proclamation of Disaster Emergency.

Still, Carroll County Sheriff Ken Pingrey said that his office is trying to keep it “business as usual” as much as possible. According to Pingrey in an interview with 1380 KCIM, law enforcement agencies across the region have been working with the Sheriff’s Office to reduce exposure and the number of individuals brought into the jail.

The sheriff added that he is being inundated with questions about the coronavirus. He said that his office is trying to handle as many calls as possible without physical contact in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

If deputies have to make contact or go to someone’s home, they are urged to use their best judgment, use personal protective equipment, and practice social distancing.
