St. Anthony Regional Hospice issued the following announcement on Feb. 27.

Beta Sigma Phi, Rho Gamma chapter, a professional women’s sorority in Carroll with 17 members, recently presented a $3,000 gift to the new St. Anthony Regional Cancer Center. The funds were raised through the fourth annual “Putt 4 a Purpose” event in which many area businesses sponsored holes and attendees paid to play in the mini-golf activity.

“Everyone in our group has been touched by cancer in one way or another,” said Event Chairperson Summer Parrott. “It was an easy decision, this cancer center is so important not only to us, but to the community and our region in western Iowa.”

Presenting the check at St. Anthony on Monday, February 10th were several Rho Gamma members. Front row, left to right are sorority member Katie Decker, Trish Roberts, St. Anthony Development Director, Dr. Randal Hess, Radiation Oncologist at St. Anthony, sorority members Shawne Wittrock, and Michele Loew. Back row, left to right are sorority members Amanda Riesberg, Crystal Scott, Summer Parrott, Heather Pietig, and Cara Vogl.
