DES MOINES AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE: DMACC to Host 'Pack the Gym' Basketball Doubleheader on Jan. 11; Free Admissionfor K-12 Students Wearing Their School Gear

Des Moines Area Community College issued the following announcement on Jan. 9. 

DMACC men’s and women’s basketball teams will play NIACC teams in Boone

WHO:          

The DMACC Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams will host a “Pack The Gym” doubleheader versus North Iowa Community College (NIACC) on Saturday, Jan. 11, on the DMACC Boone Campus, and FREE admission will be offered for all K-12 students who attend wearing their school’s gear.

The DMACC Women’s Basketball team (1 p.m. game time), led by Head Coach Steve Krafcisin, has won three consecutive games coming into this weekend’s match-up, bringing their season record to 8-7 overall and 2-1 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

The DMACC Men’s Basketball team (3 p.m. game time), led by Head Coach Josh Sash, is currently ranked fifth in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II poll with a 14-2 record and a 2-0 mark in the ICCAC. The Bears have won their last seven games coming into this Saturday’s contest against the fourth-ranked NIACC men’s basketball team.

  • 1 p.m., women’s basketball, DMACC Bears vs. NIACC Trojans
  • 3 p.m., men’s basketball, DMACC Bears vs. NIACC Trojans

DMACC Boone Campus Gymnasium

COST:        

  • FREE admission for K-12 students wearing their school gear
  • FREE admission for DMACC students, staff and faculty with DMACC ID
  • FREE admission for seniors (age 62 and up)
  • $5 tickets for adults (includes admission to both games)
