City of Lake View issued the following announcement on Oct. 15.
We have seen a few Shouses or Shomes recently erected in Lake View. The combination of a house and shed, these facilities offer large storage capacity for boats, pontoons, etc. along with a living area. The Planning and Zoning committee is currently reviewing this new type of living space and need input on the following:
• Should there be some type of aesthetic requirements to ensure that these structures fit within a neighborhood and do not have an adverse impact on neighboring property values?
• Does this type of structure improve our residents’ ability to enclose boats, campers, etc.?
The Planning and Zoning committee has been reviewing several options and could use community input. The next meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., Monday October 28th in City Council Chambers. Please plan to attend and share your thoughts with the committee.
