The IVCCD Board of Directors heard a report from Nick Stanley of Schnurr and Company, LLP, independent Auditing and CPA firm. Schnurr issued a clean audit opinion.  Stanley discussed some accounting standards changes and highlighted several areas of the audit for the board’s review.

BOARD SETS PUBLIC HEARING FOR MCC GYM RENOVATION PROJECT

The Board scheduled a hearing for the proposed Marshalltown Community College renovation of the Babe Harder gym. The renovation will be a modest update with remaining funds from the 2019 bond renovation, and the scope of the project will include a refresh of the locker room and gym space. The public hearing date was set for February 8 at 4:00 p.m.

BOARD APPROVED STANDARD FORM AGREEMENT WITH OPN ARCHITECTS, INC. FOR IVG AUTOS PROJECT

The Board approved a standard form agreement with OPN Architects, Inc. for preliminary design services to repurpose existing space to house the automotive technology program at Iowa Valley Grinnell. The study will provide preliminary designs and plans for reusing existing lifts, auxiliary HVA systems, and other equipment and provide documentation for grant applications and fundraising efforts.

BOARD APPROVES AGREEMENT BETWEEN IVCCD AND GRINNELL-NEWBURG AND EAST MARSHALL

The Board approved a shared personnel agreement between East Marshall Community School District, Grinnell-Newburg Community School District, and Marshalltown Community College to provide shared services of a College and Career Transition Counselor. The term of the agreement will go through the 2024-25 school year.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for February 8, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. and will be available via Zoom.
